Louis Giambalvo
Biography
Louis Giambalvo – American character actor, born 8 February 1945 in Brooklyn, New York. Co-founded the experimental Colonnades Theater Lab in Greenwich Village in the 1970s alongside Danny DeVito, Rhea Perlman, and John Saxon, then moved to Los Angeles in 1979. He is now retired, with his final credits in 2008–2009. His most notable film roles include Major Carnagle in Real Genius (1985), Mr. Fabrizzi in Jagged Edge (1985), Gus Wheeler in The Dead Pool (1988), Vito in Weekend at Bernie's (1989), Ray Andruitti in The Bonfire of the Vanities (1990), an RTA Representative in Hoffa (1992), Joe Carangi in Gia (1998), Sonny Gordon in Death to Smoochy (2002), and George Taber in Bottle Shock (2008). On television he is best known for his recurring role as Rob Nelson in Hill Street Blues (1981–1983), Al Capone in The Gangster Chronicles (1981), Cosimo in Star Trek: Voyager (1995), and guest appearances in ER, Boston Legal, CSI, Ugly Betty, Grey's Anatomy, and General Hospital.
